Of course, that means that he's now in the very unenviable position of lying quietly in bed and trying NOT to cough up a lung and bother his roommate in the process. Which... yeah, it's not working very well. Sorry, Isamu.]

But this doesn't mean sleep comes as a relief: brows always knit, covers always thrown off, body always twisting... Sanji sweats uneasily through his fever and battles his nightmares alone, regardless of who is in the room with him.]
[Action, December 20th]
And thus it is that he'll just take a seat by Sanji's bedside, unsure whether waking him from those nightmares would be the best idea at the moment. He knows just how jumpy and out-of-it he can be when jerked back to reality unexpectedly, but at the same time...]

Wordlessly, he knocks on Richard's door.]

[Richard's first thought is that Cheria needs something, because Isamu is Isamu and would just barge right in without knocking if he wanted to talk to Richard. Is she looking for Tiger Festival again? The cat isn't in his room; perhaps she's gone out hunting somewhere...]

[action, August 12th]
The chef is certainly shouldering the burden of reality now. Rather than put up a call for more chefs and waiters, Sanji has instead taken to filling up whatever hours he can out of his own schedule. Not the wisest move, all things considered, but being busy means less time to think, and especially with Nami absent, Sanji isn't keen on spending too much time with his thoughts. So he cooks. And cooks. And as the days pass by, he slowly feels his energy reserves halt and dwindle. When he nearly nods off into his own souffle one morning, only then does he start to admit that maybe he needs to scale back his expectations.
Maybe.
But until then, he'll settle for a few drinks at Good Spirits to unwind... and try not to fall asleep in them.]
[action, August 12th]
The sight of his employer is enough to pry him out of his corner, however, wineglass in hand as he makes his way over and just takes a seat next to the other man.]
You look like you could use a few drinks.
[Blunt? Perhaps. But he knows Sanji well enough by now to know that bluntness is preferable to dancing around a subject.]

[Action, January 29th]
So, he holds the door open for Billy, his other hand clasped within his boyfriend's, and smiles, the expression genuine and happy. They were just bad dreams, after all, and this was already making him feel better, giddy even. He just hoped it was the same for Billy.]
Kind of like going to Absolute Bagels again, isn't it?

[Action, April 4th]
He's barefoot, hair still damp from a morning shower, wearing just some plain house clothes - sweat pants and a t-shirt. The tray is set down on the nightstand, the smell of food already filling the room. As for Isamu himself, he takes a seat on the edge of the bed.]
Hey.
[Action, April 4th]
This time, though, he's so tired from sleeping all by himself for this extended period of time that it's the smell of that food that reaches his nose before the sound of Isamu's footsteps reaches his ears; by the time his friend sits down on the edge of the bed, he's already blinking sleepily, not quite processing what's going on just yet.
Hopefully Isamu speaks Sleepy Richard by now, because all he'll get out of him at first is a quiet, inquisitive sound.]

[action, May 5th (backdated)]
As hard as Sanji leaving hit Isamu, he knew it would be worse for the blond. When he found his friend's room emptied, he first checked the window before heading downstairs.
It was raining outside, and while this could help cover Richard's tracks it would also provide plenty of mud for him to leave some in. Isamu isn't the best of trackers, but Richard isn't the most stealthy, either. He's soon be hot on the king's trail, running after him without much heed for the weather (though he left his hat at home).]
[action, May 5th (backdated)]
His tracks indicate that he just ran straight out the back into the woods behind the house, crossing the stream and continuing on. This is one case where how little he's been taking care of himself is a good thing; it's not long before he runs out of steam, and by the time he trips over a tree root in his mad dash and goes sprawling headlong into the mud he doesn't have the energy left to get up and keep running.
Instead, spotting a nearby stump, he unleashes all of the pain and anger he's feeling right now upon it in the form of spell after spell until he's too exhausted to continue and the stump is little more than a pile of smouldering splinters.
And this is likely how Isamu will find him, just staring at the remnants of the stump and breathing hard. He's pretty composed aside from this... at least for the moment.]

[Richard just stares at that image for a moment, silent. He remembers that day on the draft-- how Isamu had charged those Shift Hunters to protect him despite the risk to himself.
But that's what the two of them have always done, haven't they? They've always protected him, even if it meant risking injury or worse. They didn't have anything to gain from doing that, because his status means nothing here in Luceti.
In his mind, Twila hisses and recoils, infuriated. This isn't how it's supposed to go! He isn't supposed to be questioning her or fighting back like this, yet here he is, wondering if his friends might not be right.
Just the fact that he's having second thoughts about all of this is proof enough that her hold over him is faltering.]
