[The look on Richard's face at the moment can almost be described as a pout.]

I can't give them back until I've finished uncovering all of their secrets.

[Friend? Hm. He shakes his head, one arm raised for emphasis of his exasperation. He sounds it, too.]

As I said, there aren't any . . . !

They're just glasses, idiot. Hold still.

[Isamu takes his hat off his head and plops it down on Richard's before reaching for the glasses. There, equal trade.]

[Your trade is accepted, Isamu. Richard blinks for a moment, then smiles and reaches up to adjust the hat on his head.]

And does this have magic powers as well?

[This is Richard at his most childishness, as far as Hubert is concerned. Does everything really seem so magical when you're intoxicated . . . ? He's a little at a loss.]

Yeah, it makes you do everything I say. Is it working?

[Because he's gonna start leading you in the direction of the stairs now, after handing the glasses back to Hubert.]

Yes... yes, I think it is.

[He is VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS, man. And as such, he'll just be letting Isamu do what he wants without any protest, though he's rather wobbly on his feet. Magic glasses and now a magic hat, this is so exciting!]

[He takes his glasses back with his head bowed in thanks. Finally, things look clearer again. And though Isamu's handling this well, Hubert feels he ought to contribute some way or another.]

Sir Isamu --

[Isamu holds up a hand to cut him off.]

Help me get the lush upstairs and you can thank me later.

[Fortunately, Richard seems to be happily accupied with trying to figure out the mystical properties of Isamu's hat. He's not going to put up much of a fight right now.]

[Hubert nods and approaches to help Isamu get Richard moving. He ignores Richard's fascination with the hat as he comes over to the side oppose from Isamu.]

Up you go. We'll get you upstairs and I'll tuck you in, alright?

[He might sit with him for a while too, if it helps.]

[Richard considers this for a moment, then nods. He is starting to feel a little sleepy...]

All right, but only if you come as well.

[At that, he looks over at Isamu. Only if Isamu also comes. Is that okay with him?]

[Of course Isamu is coming along. That was the general idea. The other young man has no need to stay after Richard's been deposited on his bed. It's simply a matter of getting him up there.]

I hope you weren't out by yourself, Richard.

No, I was with a lovely young lady-- Miss Sheryl. Have you met her, Isamu?

[One Miss Sheryl again. Perhaps Isamu knows who she is -- he's admittedly a tad curious, if only because he likes to know.]

And who's that? Do I need to pay better attention to who you're hanging out with?

[... and now he is laughing again.]

I'm sorry, but I really don't think she's your type. Or are you jealous of me spending time with a beautiful woman?

With Richard's attention directed at Isamu, Hubert shakes his head. The things a drunk man says . . . ]

More like I'm just wondering if I should keep you away from any bad influences.

Since this is apparently a thing I do now or something.

And here I thought you were the bad influence, Isamu.

[But he is being cooperative and heading obediently for the stairs.]

[Where is this conversation even going -- as he helps lead Richard to the stairs and up, Hubert contemplates simply turning everything out. It seems to be a more personal interaction than anything else.]

Don't be silly. I'm the best of influences.

[Let's just get you into their room now...]

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

[Richard will just be reaching up and... ruffling the hell out of both of their hair, grinning like a Cheshire Cat.]
