I suppose not. Besides, I would say that the fact that the two of us have known each other for almost three years is worth celebrating in and of itself.

Now here. [He brings the tray over to set it between them.] In celebration, you're going to eat everything I've made for you.

[Richard looks at the tray, then back up at Isamu. It DOES smell good, he can't deny that, nor how appetizing it looks. Well. SHOULD look, because he isn't exactly the best gauge of these things. Either way, it's clear that Isamu went to a considerable amount of trouble, so he's going to try to eat it.

Well played, Isamu. Well played.]

I see Sanji's teaching hasn't gone to waste.

I can learn! It's true! You should be proud of me.

[He's brought two plates, and while he knows better than to give Richard the majority, he still gives him a fairly decent sized serving.

And that grin? That grin says the blond had better eat all of what he's given.]

I never said I wasn't.

[Because it's true, he is. Over the past three years, he's watched Isamu go from a selfish brat to... well, still a brat, but one who is far more responsible and willing to put others (okay, mostly Richard) before him in some situations.]

I wasn't even aware that you knew how to make crepes. What else have you been hiding from the rest of us?

[He'll take that plate he's handed and, after giving it a good appreciative sniff, he'll actually take a bite of said crepes.]

[The last comment causes Isamu to look... almost surprised, for a moment. As if Richard might have found out something he shouldn't have. But he quickly catches himself, smirking.]

Oh, you know. My crazy singing abilities.

...No, really, though. Never ask me to sing. Your ears will bleed.

[Fortunately Richard doesn't pick up on that at all, or if he does, he doesn't let on.]

You do realize, of course, that you can't just say something like that without providing an example to allow me to judge for myself.

I can and I did. I value the functionality of your ears.

I refuse to believe that anyone with a speaking voice as pleasant as yours could be that terrible a singer.

[Dammit, Richard. You're just trying to make him blush on purpose now.

Well it works, if just for a moment.]

Flattery will get you nowhere, I'm afraid.

[Of course he is; Isamu is adorable when he blushes, so why on earth WOULDN'T he want to make that happen?]

Not even if I offer to sing first in exchange?

No. There will be no singing. This is a sing free zone. I'm putting up a sign as soon as I can be assed to make one.

[TOO LATE. Richard is already taking matters into his own hands and clearing his throat. He knows next to nothing about this particular song aside from the fact that they have it on one of those shiny music discs at the rec center and that machine that shows the words on the screen while it plays, but it's catchy as hell and it's not that hard for him to remember the lyrics without even trying.

[Isamu stares at Richard as he sings, mouth slightly agape. By the end of it he's pinching the bridge of his nose and the king should feel lucky he hasn't reached over to strangle him.]

...Why must you do this to me?

[That was an American boy band. He knows that was an American boy band.]

I told you I wasn't going to sing even if you did, anyway! My morning. Not singing.

...And anyway, that was rude. It sounds like you're trying to kick me out.

[Hey, give Richard a little credit, his voice really isn't all that bad. It's passable, at the very least, enough so that he would probably make a decent addition to an actual boy band. And hey, he's got the looks to be able to pull it off, too.]

Would you rather I sang you a love song instead? There were a number of those on the disc as well.

...It also doesn't help that he cracks a smile when he says this.]

[And suddenly, as if a button has been pushed, Richard stops singing, looking rather dismayed.

It isn't?

[Of course it wouldn't be. "Manly" would be something like one of those loud songs with lots of drums and guitar, wouldn't it?]

[Isamu snorts.]

Dammit, Richard. I was just messing with you.

Girls love guys that can sing.

And yet I don't see you jumping at the opportunity to demonstrate your singing ability for me.

Because I told you - I don't fit into that "guys who can sing" category.

I refuse to believe that until I hear proof for myself.
