Now that Naoki is back, I'm sure you'd much rather stay with him instead.

Naoki's a friend and all, but.

He's been gone for over a year. Do you think I'd be so quick to abandon everything else to stay with him?

It would just be awkward, anyway.

[But Richard doesn't answer, just continuing to gather up his clothes in his arms. He'll just... pick one of the rooms closest to Asbel. He should be fine there, even with his nightmares...]

[Isamu steps in then, walking up to him and placing a hand on his arm.]

[Richard may be drunk, but he's got enough coordination left to jerk away from that touch, though he nearly drops everything he's holding in the process as he stares at Isamu with narrowed eyes.]

I don't need to take orders from you.

[He's aware that he's being unpleasant, even childish, but at the moment he really doesn't care.]

[He sighs.]

If you really don't want to stay with me anymore... fine. But don't move out just because you think I don't want it.

[Richard pauses, staring down at the now-half-empty drawer with a pained expression. It's not that he thinks Isamu doesn't want it, but rather that the guilt he's feeling has become overwhelming, especially after the events of the past few weeks. He's not sure he can stay in the same room with Isamu anymore.]

Richard.

[He leans closer to wrap an arm around his shoulders.]

You should wait until you're thinking more clearly. Do that much for me, at least.

[And again Richard pulls away, not looking Isamu in the eyes. What he feels for Naoki is still very much there, but in the other's absence, when he didn't think he'd ever see him again, the feelings for Isamu have grown as well, and he feels sick because this is exactly the situation that got him into trouble in the first place.]

I doubt I'm going to be thinking more clearly than I am now.

Of course you think that. But I can't just take your word on it at the moment.

...I'm going to let you go. Because that's what you want right now. But I'm going to leave my door open just in case you sleepwalk back in.

[Isamu makes an aggravated noise in the back of his throat.]

Don't try to push people away.

Don't try to act like you understand.

[He's being far more defensive than normal, in part because he's still feeling vulnerable from having shared so much of his past with Sanji earlier. He doesn't like that feeling, not one bit, and he's far more short-tempered in an attempt to compensate for his perceived weakness.]

I haven't done anything. You have no reason to be upset with me.

[He doesn't, and he knows it. But he also needs to do something with the jumble of emotions he's feeling right now and Isamu just happens to be the nearest and easiest target. It's either explode at someone else right now or turn that anger inward.]

I just want to be left alone.

You just want to run off again, you mean.

And if I do? Will you come chasing me down again and beg me to come back?

[Even drunk as he is, there's a part of him that's horrified at his own behavior right now, but it (along with his better judgment) is being drowned out by the effects of the alcohol.]
