Bed.

[That just sets off another gale of laughter on Richard's end; when he recovers, he aims what is decidedly a flirtatious smile up at the other.]

That's rather bold of you, Sir Hubert. Not even a "please" or a compliment first?

B . . . b-bold!?

[It's probably a good thing that he can't see the smile. Except the tone and words speak for themselves, and it's as though something in him just died.]

I mean rest! It's clear that you had too much to drink. Now, Your Majesty --

[Is Richard even listening?]

I'm not so drunk that I'm going to fall asleep just yet-- there will be plenty of time for that later.

[It's probably a good thing Hubert can't actually see Richard sitting up and fixing his hair right now. Flirt Mode is on and that does not bode well for the young major's sanity.]

[Right. But he's drunk enough that he should rest, regardless, if Hubert has any say in it. He can see a blur of movement, though the specifics of what Richard is doing escapes him.

He'll play it carefully.]

What do you intend to do until then?

And here I thought you were the one making the suggestion.

[Being so shy already, Hubert? That simply won't do, but it is kind of endearing. He's starting to see that Hubert and Asbel really are siblings after all.]

[He makes an uncomfortable nasal sound, lips pursed and arms crossed. There's no point arguing with Richard right now, especially when it's significantly harder to read him without glasses.]

Oh come on.

[Isamu appears in the doorway, hands on his hips, having just returned from a jog. He frowns down at Richard, clearly disapproving.]

I shouldn't be the one setting a good example here, man. That's not my job.

[Oh wow, this is turning into a real party here. Richard gives a cheery wave up at Isamu, Hubert's glasses still perched quite happily on his face.]

What perfect timing. Isamu, do you want to join us? Sir Hubert just suggested that we go to bed.

. . . Sir Isamu.

[Hubert snaps his head around, and though he can't see Isamu very well, he rises and nods in that direction. He glances wearily at Richard.]

I suggested that you go to bed, Your Majesty.

Shit, okay. I got this.

[Isamu bend down and grabs one of Richard's wrists. He's going to yank his friend to his feet despite all resistance.]

[But just like he did with Hubert, Richard is going to be tugging his arm back towards himself in an attempt to pull Isamu down as well. Isamu may not be upside-down like Hubert was, but with those glasses on, he's too far away for Richard to see clearly, so he's just going to try to fix that.]

[There's not much that Hubert can do to help with his vision the way it is; and Isamu said he got it. He takes a step back, away from the two so as to give Isamu some room. Of course, if there's anything he can do, Hubert will try.]

[Yeah, no. Not having that.

Isamu grabs for his other wrist. At that angle, overpowering Richard should be easy.]

Get up, idiot.

[What nooooo let go of him, Isamu. But fortunately Richard is skinny enough (and drunk enough) that it shouldn't be too difficult to haul him upright, though he might end up overbalancing in the process...]

[It sounds like it's working -- Isamu's attempt, that is. Hubert squints. If he has to step in . . . ]

Up you go.

[Isamu pulls Richard up and slings the taller man's arm over his shoulder for support.]

Come on, now. Give your nice friend back his glasses.

[The look on Richard's face at the moment can almost be described as a pout.]

I can't give them back until I've finished uncovering all of their secrets.

[Friend? Hm. He shakes his head, one arm raised for emphasis of his exasperation. He sounds it, too.]

As I said, there aren't any . . . !

They're just glasses, idiot. Hold still.

[Isamu takes his hat off his head and plops it down on Richard's before reaching for the glasses. There, equal trade.]

[Your trade is accepted, Isamu. Richard blinks for a moment, then smiles and reaches up to adjust the hat on his head.]

And does this have magic powers as well?

[This is Richard at his most childishness, as far as Hubert is concerned. Does everything really seem so magical when you're intoxicated . . . ? He's a little at a loss.]

Yeah, it makes you do everything I say. Is it working?

[Because he's gonna start leading you in the direction of the stairs now, after handing the glasses back to Hubert.]

Yes... yes, I think it is.

[He is VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS, man. And as such, he'll just be letting Isamu do what he wants without any protest, though he's rather wobbly on his feet. Magic glasses and now a magic hat, this is so exciting!]

[He takes his glasses back with his head bowed in thanks. Finally, things look clearer again. And though Isamu's handling this well, Hubert feels he ought to contribute some way or another.]
