[Richard has to think about this for a moment, annoyed by how fuzzy his mind feels right now.]

... about two days, I suppose. I was hoping that it would go away on its own rather than get worse, but... well. It looks like I was wrong.

[Just. Mentally facepalming.]

And I'm guessing you haven't been to the clinic, or picked up any medication or anything.

It's just a cold, Isamu. I'm not going to die from it.

[... but he will feel pretty gross for a few days.]

No, but you could suffer less from it. You don't have to feel as miserable if you do something about it.

I would say you're the one suffering more than I am at the moment, since I'm keeping you awake like this.

I hope you at least had some soup or something.

Then if it will make you feel better, I'll go make some tea now.

[And standing up to go do so... okay maybe not, because wow that's some pretty intense vertigo there. Sinking down to his knees seems like a much better option than just falling over at the moment.]

[Isamu moves immediately to haul is ass back onto it.]

Just a cold. Right. Fuck, I'll make you some tea and soup or whatever. Don't go anywhere.

[Okay, so maybe Richard is a bit sicker than he's been trying to pretend. Enough so that his only real protest will be to grab at Isamu's arm as he's being helped back onto the bed with a grip that might have more than a little desperation behind it.]

No, you don't have to do that for me. Just a glass of water will be fine...

Water with the tea and soup? Works for me. Gotta keep you hydrated, after all.

[But Richard just shakes his head, not letting go of his friend's arm.]

[The faintest, fleeting hint of a smile crosses Richard's face and he obediently moves to lie back down. Then, almost in direct opposition to what he just said:]

... but I'll understand if you end up wanting to move out to the couch.

[It's hard to tell whether that next sound is a laugh or a cough, or perhaps both.]

It isn't just the coughing that I'm worried about.

Isamu... what really happened that day I returned from the draft? When you said I "zoned out."

[He rolls slightly to look at Isamu.]

[That's enough to jog his memory to what he THOUGHT he was seeing that day, and he shakes his head slowly, raising a hand to cover his face. "Flashback" sounds like a pretty good way to describe it.]

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, I really am.

[There's a pause as he takes a deep breath. If it happened once, it could always happen again, and he'd rather NOT freak Isamu out next time.]

I was... reminded of things I didn't want to remember.
