[Isamu may be embarrassed by this, but it seems as if Richard is almost back to his normal self... at least on the outside.]

And I'm truly grateful to you for that. I'm still not sure what I did to deserve a friend like you, Isamu.

I don't know either. Lord knows I have so many other options.

Why?

[It's an honest question. Self-esteem isn't something Richard has much of on a personal level and he isn't sure why Isamu wants to be around him, especially after everything that's happened.]

Sometimes things just happen. Who else can I just sit around and tease like we were?

I like you because you're you. Don't need a better reason than that.

But if it weren't for me, you would have been able to spend this afternoon doing something you wanted to do, not slaving away in the kitchen making something to get me to eat.

If it weren't for me, you might even be able to find yourself a real girlfriend.

...Dude. We all know I can't find a girl because I suck at dealing with them. You can't even take blame for that.

And what makes you think this isn't exactly what I wanted to do today?

I'm not a pretty girl, and I'm hardly the best company right now. I'm sure there's no shortage of other things that are more entertaining than I am.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would mistake you for a pretty girl.

Stop thinking about yourself like this. It's depressing. Don't people usually find hanging out with their friends to be entertaining?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this conversation to take such a depressing turn. Just forget I said any of that-- I should be more appreciative of you taking the time to do all of this for me.
