[It's a cold, overcast day when Richard steps outside the house this morning, but that doesn't deter him one bit from the errands he has planned for today, even if it does cause him to duck back inside for a scarf first. It doesn't matter how much he hates the cold; today is important, so he can't wait for it to get warmer.

His first stop is the item store in search of the perfect gift. He'll probably linger around this store for the longest, because he wants to find just the right thing. After that, he'll head over to All Passions, where he makes a beeline towards the suits.

Finally, he heads to the bakery to grab a cake. This stop on his little shopping trip requires the most self-control... or not, as he'll probably end up emerging with a few more things than just a cake. Oh well, his housemates will eat them, right?

Once all of this is accomplished, he heads back to House 28, looking both very pleased with himself and just a little bit mischievous too.

Come to think of it, I have seen you with him before. [She taps her foot, thinking about that... but then gives up, it's irrelevant] So a suit for him, huh...

Actually, you might be able to help me with a few other things as well. I've done as much research as possible in the library, but it would probably be more useful to get a first-hand opinion just to be safe.

That it's somewhat antiquated but for men who've turned twenty in the last year.

Today happens to be Isamu's twentieth birthday-- I think you can guess why I'm asking about this.

Yeah, I can see there. Honestly, it's just a sort of formal ceremony -- it's nothing particularly special if you ask me.

I know I can't exactly perform the ceremony here, but I thought the two of us could at least visit the shrine. That is a part of the custom, isn't it?

Yeah, that's a part of it-- I'd recommend the one on Amaterasu's hill.

I didn't realize there was more than one.

[He's never actually been to either one, but shhh.]

There's two active ones, at the moment. It's a recent development in both cases though, really.

Not really. I'm sure you can figure it out and come up with something more interesting than the actual tradition anyway.

I was thinking something along those lines myself, as long as it doesn't involve some sort of wild party. Isamu has never been much of a fan of those, not even with coaxing on my part.

If you're going to do it right, even if it's not for me, probably a drink or two ought to happen.

[Hmm. Isamu's not a big fan of alcohol, but surely he could make an exception for a special occasion, couldn't he?]

If he's into that sort of thing. [She shrugs. She personally is not, but even she might consider it if she was going to do a ceremony like that]

I might be able to do a bit of convincing on my end.

As long as you're not peer pressuring. [Huff, but now she turns to go back to her own... waiting... okay no he busies herself with looking at some stuff on a rack behind her previously]

[He wouldn't. Tease, yes, but actually pressure, no.]

[Richard just looks at her for a moment before he bursts out laughing.]

I suppose I can't argue with either one of those assessments.
