[It's a clear autumn day, with crisp air and blue skies-- the perfect weather for taking a long walk, which is exactly what Richard is out doing right now. Only, well, it's less of a walk and more of a patrol of sorts, just in case. Not that he actually expects to find Naoki, but it can't hurt to keep an eye out anyway. He'll be wandering around pretty much all over town, out into the forest, and finally back to Apartment 23, where he's been staying for the past few days.

Anyone who spots him will probably notice that he looks somewhat tired and in less of a good mood than he usually is.]

You too, huh? [He rubs the back of his neck at that. Man...] I'm sure he'll be fine...

He's strong. He survived the last time, but...

No buts. [He gives him a reassuring smile.] Preparing for the worst is fine, but thinking of the worst isn't going to do you any good.

You're right... besides, Naoki wouldn't want to see us worrying like this. He'd tell us to cheer up before he has to resort to drastic measures.

[A snort.] I expect as much. He's not the type who'd like to worry others either.

But he's also the type that everyone worries over.

Funny how that works. [He chuckles.] He'd probably feel bad if he know we worried.

And then he'd worry about us worrying, making us worry more, in one big vicious circle.

[But he's smiling.]

And that's why we need to not worry, or else we'll just spend the rest of the time wondering who's worrying more.

Yes, you're right... thank you, Ted. You're truly a kind young man. Naoki is lucky to have someone like you as such a close friend.

[Young, huh? If only Richard knew. He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly at that.] You're making me flustered. I didn't say anything that impressive.
