[It's early in the morning, just shortly after sunrise, and Richard is sitting on a fallen tree a short distance from House 6. Naoki had taken him there after CH 4 had collaspsed, and while it's far more crowded than Richard is used to, he's grateful to have a roof over his head and to be in the company of a friend (friends, possibly, though he's still not sure what Isamu thinks of him).

But eventually he needs some space, and that's why he's slipped outside to be alone for a while. Sure, he's seen several experiments by now, but this... this is completely different. Before this, Luceti hadn't seemed so bad at all. Now, however, he's not so sure.

And then there was that entire conversation he and Naoki had had the other day... it's amazing how confusing things could become in just two days. This is most certainly not the way Richard had been expecting to spend his 20th birthday.]

[Isamu's fidgeting a little now, hands in his pockets.]

It's not so bad. Want those apartments to be rebuilt a.s.a.p., though.

It's weird that they haven't yet...

[Hi, best friend, watching you fidget curiously.]

[He casts a glance up at the eerie red glow of the sky.]

... no, never mind.

Earthquake probably messed a bunch of shit up.

[He stands there a moment longer.] Well, I'll. Uh. I'm gonna go on and head out.

[Naoki looks at him thoughtfully.]

D'you wanna hang around a bit longer? [He scoots closer to Richard where he's sitting, patting the spot next to him invitingly with a grin.]

I would have no objections to that. Like I said, there's plenty of sake left, and I'm sure Naoki wouldn't mind sharing.

[Isamu looks like he's about to take Naoki up on the offer, but then frowns and shakes his head.]

No, you two idiots can hang out on your own. I'll catch you later.

[With that, he finally turns and starts heading off.]

[Naoki moves to rise.]

Isamu!

[Richard's laughing a little now, amused.]

Later, Naoki.

[Crossly:] Get back here.

Yes, get back here, Sir Isamu.

[He stops and turns back abruptly, looking as if he's about to argue...

But then instead just starts walking away again, picking up the pace.]

[An irritated tic forms over Naoki's eyebrow and he stands up, gesturing to Richard.] Just give me a minute. [And stomping after his best friend. Isamu, how would you like to go over his shoulder again?]

All right.

[He's not about to go anywhere anyway given how everything is spinning so wonderfully right about now.]

[Oh shit, demi-fiend incoming...] Look, I told you-- What are you-- Hey!

[Doot doot, hoisting Isamu over a shoulder and carrying him back. And quite pointedly placing him into a sitting position, plopping down between him and Richard.]

There. Now you're gonna stay.

[Richard has to fight the urge to start laughing again as Isamu is plunked rather unceremoniously down on the log, looking very disgruntled indeed.]

That's certainly one way of doing things.

You ass. I hate you. [Isamu is red in the face, but the comment doesn't have much venom to it even so.]

[Naoki laughs and swings an arm around his shoulders, giving him a friendly jostle.]

No, you don't. Now, you're gonna try my sake, got it?

[Richard nods, grinning.]

There's more than half the bottle left; it would be a shame to let it go to waste.

Yours? [He raises an eyebrow.]

If I'm gonna be forced, I guess. As long as you don't give any more to Giggles here.

Ahh...sorry, Richard. [A little grin as he goes about pouring up a cup for Isamu.]

No offense taken-- I suppose I have had a bit more than I probably should.

So when you say yours, you're not saying you made this, are you? How old are you again?

[He smirks a little as he takes the drink, giving it a curious sniff before sipping slowly.]
