[Naoki makes his unsteady, still-muzzy way outside come morning. He conked out early the previous night, exhausted, but slows as soon as he sees Richard not far from the house. He rubs at his eyes sleepily, opens his mouth to call out and--well, doesn't.

Mainly because his half-awake mind tells him his friend's probably out here alone for a reason. So he rubs at his eyes once more before moving to continue where he was going--to the river not far from the house. Maybe he'll greet him on the way back.]

[Either way, Richard won't be going anywhere anytime soon. The cool morning air feels nice and refreshing after being inside the very crowded house; he knows it won't be as pleasant outside later on in the day, so he's going to enjoy it while it lasts.

But that movement in the corner of his eye catches his attention, and he turns his head to see who is there. That's a very definite smile spreading across his face when he sees who it is.]

Good morning, Naoki. You're up early.

[Naoki pauses mid-step, turns toward him with his hand lowering from an eye-rub. There's a still somewhat-sleepy smile he aims at him in return before he makes his way over to him.]

Mm, g'morning. So're you.

[Richard at least looks somewhat more awake, though he can't help but smile a little more at how bleary Naoki seems. He'll scoot over just a bit on the log to give his friend some room to sit down.]

I'm not used to such crowded sleeping arrangements. That, and at least one person has a tendency to snore.

[Naoki sinks down on the log next to him, stretching out his legs in front of him and resting his hands on it to either side of himself.]

Yeah, I'm not used to them either, but hopefully it won't be for too long and-- [And he grins a bit.] I promise I wasn't the one snoring.

[That earns Naoki a laugh.]

I think I would be able to tell if the person right next to me was the culprit. From the sound of things, whoever was responsible was farther away than that.

[Naoki grins a little wider, gradually becoming more awake as he talks, though he still cuts off to yawn and run a hand through tousled hair.]

Ah, well, thought I should say so, just in case. [An idle nod.]

[He nods as well, then turns his head to look upwards at the eerie reddish glow of the barrier. That's definitely been making him uneasy.]

I wonder how long it will take for the buildings to repair themselves... or if they'll even repair themselves at all this time.

[Naoki's fingers twitch a little--he's been avoiding staring at the barrier, for the most part.]

If they don't...we'll just make new buildings. [Murmured:] We'll get through this.

We will. We're alive-- that's what matters. Buildings and items can be replaced, but not people.

Mm, exactly. It seems like we've turned out pretty lucky, I haven't heard anything about anyone dying...

That's amazing, considering the level of destruction throughout most of the village. But I will admit that I was worried when I heard you yelling over the journals...

[Naoki pauses, rubs his neck with his palm.] Ah, I was...really afraid. For Isamu, and my friends--especially those who share the same floor. I had to move quick...
