[Richard is up early this morning, out and about before most of the rest of the household is even awake. He's not about to let his odd sensitivity to any sort of wind stop him from getting things done-- instead, he simply bundles himself up until he looks more like a walking pile of coats and scarves than anything else before making his way in to the center of town for a shopping trip. Of course, the downside of said bundle of outer layers is that it's a bit hard for him to see, meaning that he might occasionally stumble into people or objects before he even realizes it...

His first stop is the grocery store, where he can be found consulting a list and selecting ingredients. Okay, maybe making a black forest cake is a bit ambitious on his end, but he wants to give it a shot anyway. It SOUNDS delicious, if nothing else.

Then he heads to the item store to grab a few more things, even though he'd already picked out his main present some time ago. Perhaps a new toy for Tiger Festival as well...

Of course, then he realizes that his recipe calls for cherry liqueur, which requires a stop by Good Spirits to pick some of that up.

Finally, he heads back home to House 28, where housemates will find him in the kitchen baking something that smells very delicious and very chocolatey. The end result may be a little lopsided and the frosting job definitely leaves something to be desired (maybe he should've whipped that whipped cream a bit more, it seems a little runny), but at least it smells good?]

I would think the brand matters less than the type if what you are looking for is something to help you relax.

[That was how he was first introduced to tequila, after all. He'd never heard of it before that night out with Sheryl, but he had to admit that it did the job quite nicely, even if the taste left a bit of something to be desired. It wasn't as if it really mattered after the first couple of shots anyway.]

Well, when you want a taste of home, it kind of helps.

bender, but he got his ass chewed out when he wanted so much as coffee. Of
course, Bones didn't have a liver working itself back up into fighting

And I'm not sure I'm up for something crazy exotic tonight.

What about some tequila? Or perhaps some Romulan Ale if you're in the mood for something stronger?

[Both of those have sort of become his go-tos when he wants to drink his sorrows away. Given the look on this stranger's face, something tells Richard that he's here for that reason and not just for a casual outing. He definitely sympathizes on that end.]

Ugh, Romulan Ale. I have had enough of them for a lifetime, I don't want their ale too.

you've been beaten up by a squad of them, well, the taste for anything with
their name in it sort of diminished, and it had never been his thing to
begin with. In fact, he thought that particular addition to the stock was
all Bones' fault. ]}

Maybe I'll just stick to a cider. Bones can't get to mad at that.

[Kirk's question goes completely unheeded in favor of his earlier statement. Kirk knows Romulan Ale? He comes from the world where it originates? Now Richard is curious, and he wants to know more. His own knowledge is limited to what he'd heard of it from Sanji and Nami, which isn't really that in-depth at all beyond the fact that Romulans are apparently some kind of space aliens.]

You know of the Romulans? Wonderful! Tell me more about them! Is it true they come from outer space?
