[It's a cold, overcast day when Richard steps outside the house this morning, but that doesn't deter him one bit from the errands he has planned for today, even if it does cause him to duck back inside for a scarf first. It doesn't matter how much he hates the cold; today is important, so he can't wait for it to get warmer.

His first stop is the item store in search of the perfect gift. He'll probably linger around this store for the longest, because he wants to find just the right thing. After that, he'll head over to All Passions, where he makes a beeline towards the suits.

Finally, he heads to the bakery to grab a cake. This stop on his little shopping trip requires the most self-control... or not, as he'll probably end up emerging with a few more things than just a cake. Oh well, his housemates will eat them, right?

Once all of this is accomplished, he heads back to House 28, looking both very pleased with himself and just a little bit mischievous too.

[Richard knows that Teddy mentioned a couple of things, even asked him a question, but the only thing he's focused on right now is a single word out of those few sentences. It's a word he didn't expect to hear, that much is for certain.]

Your boyfriend?

[Someone else like him?]

[That gets him to blink and look back at Richard, his smile widening a little at the prospect of having to talk about said boyfriend.]

Yeah, he's... [Before his smile fades a bit. Teddy's been pretty surprised by how many people in Luceti aren't homophobic, and while he feels no shame letting people know he's taken by the best person in the world, he'd rather not make someone uncomfortable too in the process.] Sorry, is that weird for you?

[There's a small smile playing on Richard's lips as he shakes his head, though he still seems slightly disbelieving, if only because he's used to feeling like he's strange or even abnormal for it.]

No, it's not that. It's just... I haven't met many other people like myself here.

[The implication there should be very clear.]

[It only takes Teddy a second for the implication to become clear. His eyes widen, and then a smile comes over his face.]

You too? Wow... It's been a while.

[The last one he saw were Xavin and Karolina, and even then, he wasn't sure about them since he mostly saw Xavin in her male form. The smile widens a little as he holds out a fist, realizing too late that Richard may not, in fact, know what a brofist is.]

Billy and I don't really meet people like us often.

[Fortunately Richard does indeed know what a brofist is, and though he looks confused for a moment, at last he brings his own fist up to bump it against Teddy's, smiling.]

I've only ever met three other people like myself. It doesn't do much to make you feel less odd about it, that much is for certain.

[Oh good; it was just as Teddy was about to put his hand away that Richard returned the gesture, and he looks pleasantly surprised as a result.]

Yeah, tell me about it. At least people don't seem to care here. [He looks back at the door, as if he can see right through the walls and at Billy, who's still at the apartment.] It's not so much like that back at home, even though we've been lucky about it. I know that much.

It isn't something that's talked about or even acknowledged in my world. No one knows outside of my closest friends. And there are... complications that would keep me from being open about it, even if it were more accepted.

[Such as being king and needing to provide an heir. Dalen has already been pestering him about that and being quite displeased over his rejection of every single marriage proposal he's received.]

Complications?

[Teddy can relate, although he wouldn't quite say that unless he knew said complications. But back at home, what with him caring so much more about what society thinks, the first few weeks of their dating was a little difficult. Yet soon enough, Billy got him to just not care what anyone else thought. Hence the way they can be sickening with each other without a care in the word.]

My social standing, to start with. I'm expected to produce an heir to continue the family line.

[He's not going to mention the whole "I'm the king" thing just yet; there's no need to, since it isn't just royalty who is expected to keep the family bloodline going. The noble families are expected to do the same thing as well.]
