[Action, early evening of the 11th]

[A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Richard made a certain offer to Asbel because his best friend is apparently incapable of going after the woman who likes him (aka Cheria) without outside intervention. He's already pulled some intervention in the form of mistletoe shenanigans, but since then, there's been absolutely no progress on that front and it's nearly Valentine's Day.

So Richard has decided to take matters into his own hands. As a king, he's had more than enough lessons in manners and the proper methods of courting ladies, meaning that he is going to make sure that Asbel knows how to treat a woman right, and what better way to do so than by having Asbel take him out for an evening the way he (hopefully) will with Cheria later? Of course, there's only one flaw in this plan, which is figuring out how to make Asbel forget that he's with Richard, his decidedly male best friend, and act like he would if he were going out with an actual woman. BUT HE HAS A PLAN. And said plan involves a purple dress, a bit of makeup, some jewelry, and his hair swept up into a slightly messy updo.

There, perfect. Now, to execute the plan...

Feel free to gawk at the lovely lady who is heading to Seventh Heaven to meet Asbel! Or just stare in horror because RICHARD IS THAT YOU.]

[Fortunately Richard does indeed spot Grune! And he'll be pausing in his walking to smile and give her a slight wave, coming over to say hello.]

Good evening, Miss Grune. Are you enjoying the weather?

[Grune's finger slips down from her cheek and she...oh, is that a man? That was a slightly deeper voice than she had been expecting. Well, whoever it is, they're being nice and friendly, and so she smiles right back with only a little lingering puzzlement.]

Oh, yes, it's very pretty outside this evening.

[And then she tilts her head to one side a touch. She can't possibly imagine that she's forgotten one of her friends, but...she just can't place who this is.]

I'm sorry--do I know you?

[Richard can't help but laugh, amused but not entirely surprised that he isn't recognized right away. He did put a considerable amount of effort into his appearance tonight, after all, and most people aren't expecting to see a man in a dress.]

It's me, Richard. As for why I'm dressed like this, let's just say I'm doing a friend a favor tonight.

[Oh, so that's why he looks so familiar. She hasn't forgotten a friend after all. That's good.]

Oh, hello, Richard. That's very kind of you to help your friend. What are you doing?

I told him I would help give him a lesson in how to court a lady, as there's someone he would like to spend Valentine's Day with. And what better way to help him than by acting it out as practice?

Hmm.... Is there a better way?

[Grune doesn't do well with rhetorical questions.]

[Oh Grune.]

None that I've found so far, I'm afraid.

Then if you're helping him in the best way you know, you're being a good friend! [Big smile!] I'm sure he'll be very happy for all your help.

[His smile softens slightly at the praise. He certainly hopes Asbel will appreciate this and not react badly - not that he expects that, but you never know.]

I know he will. [She has complete confidence, and it shows in her voice.]

[At this, Richard looks somewhat taken aback.]

Oh, yes, of course. After all, helping your friend find his special someone is a very important job. If we work together, I know he'll be able to do it!

He's already found his special someone; he's just having problems expressing his feelings to her. That's why I offered to help him in the first place.

Hmm.... Maybe I could cheer him on! I could tell him, "You can do it!" And, "Good luck!"
