[There are the sounds of a somewhat muffled conversation in the background before Richard picks up the journal to address it, a clear undercurrent of happiness and slight excitement to his voice.]

So this is what they refer to on Earth as a "white Christmas." I've read that this sort of Christmas is the best kind to have despite the weather... what do all of you think? Do you prefer the snow, or would you like a sunny day?

[He'll be sitting on the couch sipping a cup of tea while he waits for answers-- and his housemates, because IT'S CHRISTMAS AND HE IS EXCITED due to not having this holiday in his world. Might as well enjoy it while he's here, right?]

Well, yes, but... What's so special about Christmas in particular that you would give gifts on that day? I know you give gifts to someone on their birthday, and to friends, so...

As far as I know, it's just a part of the tradition, along with the tree and the decorations. And there's also the mistletoe...

That's right. Of course, that means you won't be able to walk through any doorways with mistletoe hanging in them unless you have someone with you.

There's also an old man with a white beard dressed in red by the name of Santa Claus. He goes from house to house on Christmas Eve and cuts down people's chimneys, then uses the bricks to build new houses as presents for those in need.

How kind of him, to help people in their time of need. Santa Claus truly is a wonderful person, don't you think?

It's said that he's had a dislike of chimneys ever since his family was devoured by one long ago.

I don't know, but I don't think there's any need to worry-- the chimneys here in Luceti don't seem dangerous at all.

Ahh... That's good... I wouldn't want someone else to lose their family to the chimneys... And maybe Santa Claus can safely do his job this year!
