[There are the sounds of a somewhat muffled conversation in the background before Richard picks up the journal to address it, a clear undercurrent of happiness and slight excitement to his voice.]

So this is what they refer to on Earth as a "white Christmas." I've read that this sort of Christmas is the best kind to have despite the weather... what do all of you think? Do you prefer the snow, or would you like a sunny day?

[He'll be sitting on the couch sipping a cup of tea while he waits for answers-- and his housemates, because IT'S CHRISTMAS AND HE IS EXCITED due to not having this holiday in his world. Might as well enjoy it while he's here, right?]

[Naoki may argue his being a chef but soon enough he's finishing up and putting the food on plates, glancing between them both.]

[Will just be grabbing a soda here, because coffee takes too long and he needs a pick-me-up.

Wait, gifts? He didn't get any gifts for anyone...]

[Yeah, there might be a few wrapped gifts under the tree there. Richard enjoys giving presents, okay. This is the first time he's ever had people he wants to give gifts to.]

[Okay, food first and then gifts. Naoki plops down on the floor in front of the fire and sets the two plates on the table for them.

And then starts on his without preamble.]

[Should he run out and get something? The statue was enough, wasn't it?

Isamu follows Naoki's example, trying not to look uncomfortable.]

[Presents or not, Richard doesn't really care. He seems happy enough just enjoying the moment here.]

Yeah, that food's gone already. He is a glutton.]

What'd you guys have planned for today, anyway?

I was hoping the two of you might be able to tell me more about what you're supposed to do on Christmas.

Supposed to do...?

[Naoki considers, and then chuckles a bit.]

I don't know about everyone else, but I just spent time with my aunt and uncle on Christmas. A lotta couples go on dates on Christmas Eve. Then there's the present thing, of course. And cake.

Man, we didn't even really do the present thing. I mean, my birthday's so close and then there's New Years...

Well, we can do the present thing today, and I'm sure cake can be arranged as well.

[No ifs, ands or buts.]

[Naoki laughs to himself, then looks a bit hungry.]

Cake...

...You are completely impossible. It's still morning, you pig.

We can always make one for later and eat it for breakfast tomorrow morning.

[Naoki feels bad for nothing. He grins.]

That sounds good! Let's do that.

[Just rolling his eyes over here.]

The kind with strawberries and whipped cream frosting?

[That's the kind of Christmas cake he read about, after all, and he loves strawberries, so that's even better.]
