[Voice/Action] (backdated to Christmas morning)

[There are the sounds of a somewhat muffled conversation in the background before Richard picks up the journal to address it, a clear undercurrent of happiness and slight excitement to his voice.]

So this is what they refer to on Earth as a "white Christmas." I've read that this sort of Christmas is the best kind to have despite the weather... what do all of you think? Do you prefer the snow, or would you like a sunny day?

[He'll be sitting on the couch sipping a cup of tea while he waits for answers-- and his housemates, because IT'S CHRISTMAS AND HE IS EXCITED due to not having this holiday in his world. Might as well enjoy it while he's here, right?]

[brb napping through Christmas. COMFY BED IS COMFY.]

[Sorry Naoki, Richard is going to go look for you when he realizes that you're still asleep. It is a very comfortable bed, though, and Richard will be sitting on the edge of it before leaning down to give Naoki a gentle kiss.

Wakey wakey, boyfriend.]

[But but but sleep. It's what Naoki loves second-best.

One eye opens slightly at that kiss. Muffled--] Mmm... [--before he sleepily kisses back.]

[Is this worth waking up for? Richard rather hopes it is.]

[He's going to need a few minutes.

Can drag down for cuddles while he tries to wake up?]

[Oh fine, he'll let himself be pulled down onto the bed for cuddles. Not that he minds, of course-- he may be nestling closer.]

The snow is perfect for Christmas! Everything looks all new and you get to stay inside and be comfy. [Can you tell she likes this?]

[Yayyyy cuddles~

Eventually, after a few minutes of cuddling him punctuated by nuzzles to Richard's hair, Naoki will blink open his eyes. Lift an arm in order to muffle a yawn into it.]

Most of the books I've read about Earth agree with you on that. It seems like a snowy Christmas is the most traditional image of the holiday in most places. And I can't say I have any complaints about getting to stay inside either, not as long as you have good company to enjoy the weather with.

Good morning, and Merry Christmas.

[Richard presses a quick kiss to his cheek, amused by how adorably sleepy Naoki is right now. Were he feeling more adventurous, he might've tried making breakfast, but... well. Excitement won out.]

[Naoki smiles at him warmly.]

Merry Christmas.

[He shifts, loosening his hold on him in order to extend his arms over his head, arching his back in a stretch. This done, there's a mumble of satisfaction. He is waking up more as time goes on.]

I was starting to wonder just how long you were going to sleep.

[He's teasing, of course, especially because he's no longer as much of a morning person as he once was. He shifts to prop his head in his hand and just watch that stretching with a smile, finding that he's not exactly in any hurry to get up just yet.]

Oh, if you hadn't have come in, I'd say I coulda slept a good few more hours.

[Drowsily teasing. After the stretching, Naoki relaxes back into the bed, practically boneless, and settles an arm over Richard's middle.]

Then I would have had to find a better way to wake you up.

[... and he's got some ideas for that that he may just try someday. But Naoki is awake now, so he'll just be settling closer with a smile.]

[Blinking a few times.

Closing his eyes and pretending to go back to sleep now. 8D]

[Richard stifles a chuckle before leaning in to nip at Naoki's ear, murmuring:]

If I woke you up that way right now, we'd never get around to opening presents.

Ah-- [Way to go right for a weak spot, Richard. Naoki blinks open his eyes, gone faintly pink.]

H-heh, that's right, isn't it...

Yes, it is. Are you going to get up, or shall I let Isamu have all of your presents instead?

[Don't worry, Naoki, he'll wake you up like that later. Eventually.]

I'm up, I'm up.

[Grinning, Naoki presses one hand to the bed to push himself up into a sitting position.]

Exactly! [Speaking of which, where's Spada to troll around with.] Who do you have over for company?

Just my two housemates at the moment, Naoki and Isamu. Do you know either of them?

[Richard rolls slightly to the side to sit back up as well, slightly reluctant to leave the warmth of the bed. Oh well. Maybe they can retreat to it to snuggle later, or drag the comforter out to the couch and pull Isamu into the pile with them as well.]

[Naoki scoots to the edge of the bed with a yawn and another stretch, flexing his fingers before standing.

Without even thinking about it, he offers a hand to Richard.]

Mmmm~ nuh-uh, I've never heard their names before. [Someone Naoki hasn't met? Unbelievable!]

[Likewise, Richard takes it without thought, standing up and tossing his hair back over his shoulder as he does so.]
